Basic Funeral Option

The total cost of the basic funeral option from Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services is £1100

Please note:

A funeral can be either a burial or a cremation. The price of Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services's basic funeral option does not include cemetery or crematoria fees, also known as 'disbursements', which vary widely across the country.

If you're having a burial you can expect cemetery and grave preparation fees to be between £500 and £20,000.

If you're having a cremation you can expect crematoria fees to be between £500 and £800. Two doctors' signatures are required for cremations (unless the coroner is involved) and these cost £152.

These costs will be in addition to the basic funeral cost quoted above.

Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services says about their basic funeral option:

Attendance of a funeral director at the crematorium
Collection and local delivery of cremated remains
Handling of donations to charity in memory of the person who has died
A notice on our website to inform others of the funeral arrangements

We asked Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services 'What makes your basic funeral option special':

As the only locally-owned, fully independent funeral directors in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, we are in a unique position to offer our clients exacly what they want. We are not bound by corporate rulings, and we are not under constant pressure from distant directors to increase profits. We offer our basic funeral service to anyone, openly and honestly.

This basic funeral includes:

This funeral includes all costs for Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services's professional services, advice and help (including help to find someone to perform the ceremony if required).

All costs for appropriate care of the body of the person who had died.

Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services says: "Use of our chapel of rest, dressing of the deceased and visits to the chapel of rest as required are included in the quoted fee"

The provision of a coffin for the person who has died.

Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services says: "A simple coffin suitable for cremation is included in the quoted fee. It is a simulated light oak veneered coffin fitted with handles and name plate for identification."

Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services says: "Removal from a local place of death to our chapel of rest, and then from our chapel of rest to a local crematorium or cemetery is included in the quoted fee."

The cost of co-ordinating the funeral on the day (not including performing the ceremony).

Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services says: "We use a Ford Galaxy instead of a large hearse. Coffin bearers are not included in the cost of our basic funeral because we find that very often families like to carry out this duty themselves."
