My husband died very suddenly in February and knowing theat Sullivan & Son had dealt with my dad's funeral a few years earlier decided they would be my choice for my late husband's celebration of life. They were so understanding and nothing was too much trouble, caring and so understanding at all times. Julie, Paul and Alex you are a credit to your profession and I cannot recommend you highly enough. I will forever be grateful for making a trully awful day bearable and myself and my family would not hesitate in saying you are excellent in every way possible.

We found Sullivan & Son to be very professional, caring and sympathetic. They discussed our requirements at our home and provided as much information as possible to enable us to choose the funeral that satisfied our requirements.

They provided an on the spot cost of the funeral which proved to be very accurate when the final invoice was received.

Paul and Julie were very helpful and assisted and supported us every step of the way. 

We chose a celebrant recommended by Paul who was absolutely perfect for the service we required.

In addition the special music we chose and the TV screen with pictures of Amanda's life were appreciated by the attendees.

Sullivan and Son and Claire James , the celebrant,  provided a perfect send off for a much loved daughter. We are very grateful to them for their care and attention to our needs to ensure her life was celebrated with tears, laughter and much love.

Sullivan and Son were recommended to me and following excellent service and I would in turn recommend their services.

From the moment I entered their premises I was made to feel welcome and they immediately put me at ease. This was the first funeral I had arranged and was obviously apprehensive on what I would need to do. They explained all in detail, giving recommendations when needed. They itemised every aspect of the service, and with no hidden costs, I came away from the initial meeting knowing how much the day would cost.

They arranged many aspects of the day, leaving me to concentrate on other aspects, all at a reasonable fee. Again all services were itemised separately, allowing me to easily make decisions on what I needed to be included.

In summary, their professionalism made me feel safe to trust them to deliver all the aspect of the funeral arrangements. And this is invaluable when you are saying goodbye to a loved one. It helped me to grieve with my friends and family.

Having to deal with the death of a loved one and all the arrangements that need to be made can be an incredibly stressful time for anyone. My partner sadly passed away just before the new year in December 2017, because of official procedures and the time scale involved we were unable to fulfill her first wish which was to leave her body to medical science, providing much needed support to the profession. Her second choice was to have a Direct Cremation, her reason being she wanted all her friends to have a party celebrating her life after her passing rather than the traditional type of funeral service.

I first contacted Sullivan & Son after checking out a number of websites for the local area. What drew me initially apart from the fact that they offered this service was their upfront honesty with regard to pricing. Not that money was an issue in this case, just that it was helpful to know exactly what the overall costings would work out at, unlike the majority of other firms who give no indication. 

I spoke to Alex first on the telephone and was immediately put at ease by his friendly and understanding manner. Personally prefering a face to face meeting, I made an appointment and met Paul to discuss all the details and arrangements and was likewise impressed with the way he conducted himself and his business. Friendly, compassionate, sympathetic and understanding spring to mind. He was very helpful and assuring in answering my questions and concerns, explaining the whole process and showed flexibility with the arrangements at this particularly sensitive and difficult time.

One of the options was to set up a tribute page, where I was able to say a few words, include some pictures and where it is possible for anyone viewing it to leave a donation to a chosen charity, an excellent idea.

My only contact with Julie came via email and letter, but again she showed the same sensitive and caring nature in dealing with the final arrangements.

All in all I can't rate or recommend them highly enough for the professional manner in which they conducted themselves at all times, or for putting me at ease and helping me to cope with one of the most difficult challenges in life...dealing with the passing of someone you love.

We contacted Sullivan & Sons after my Uncle Jim died suddenl. From the frist phone call with Julie we knew this was the company we wanted to arrange my Uncle Jim's Cremation.  As i was organising the Cremation from Dublin the Sullivan team where very supportive and Julie helped me make some very difficult decisions. The Sullivan team are compassionate, professional, supportive and kind hearted  They kept me fully informed every step of the way of Jims Cremation. 

Jims ashes are now in Dublin in the family plot. I would like to say a big thank you to Julie & Sullivan team

There are no adequate words to say thank you to Sullivan and Sons for their support cooperation and flexibility in helping us arrange a sea burial for our Father. Even in the face of constant changes and requests, we were dealt with with kindness and patience and understanding. Nothing was too much.

Paul, Alex and Julie were so supportive in helping with the funeral arrangements for my late brother Eamonn.  They gave advice when asked and followed our wishes when we expressed our preferences.  Given that it was all done via phone and email due to distance,, the end result was exactly what we wanted, and more importantly exactly as my brother would have wished.  Their pricing plan is straighforward and well itemised; they did not try to upsell in any way or make us feel that we needed to spend more to make it  a special occasion.  I thoroughly recommend them.

When Mum died in the early hours of the morning, I didn't realise that I needed to engage an Undertaker immediately. I found Sullivan & Son online. Their website is excellent and provided all the information I needed. From the first phone call to them, they gave me all the reassurance and support you could wish for. They made arranging Mums funeral as painless as possible. During the funeral and after, they were on hand with further guidance, prepared to give any additional support we might need. I've never had to do a funeral before and didn't know where to start I was told about Sullivan's and Sons so I went and spoke to Alex who co owns it and  saw us straight away with no appointment he was very caring and nothing was to much for him to sort out we then meet Julie who then lead my mums funeral  she was brilliant, we had the flowers done with them to and they were lovely, worth the money it the whole thing was made simple went smoothly so a thanks to Alex Paul and Julie for make it special to me and my family

We were SO GLAD to have found Sullivan & Sons on the Internet, from first phone call they were amazing, so helpful in every aspect and made a difficult time seem so easy to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble, Everything was explained and they were happy to answer any questions at any time.

Their website is great as if you have a budget all fees are there to see so no horrible surprises. 

With there help, my Dads funeral will be talked about for months!!!

I had to arrange the funeral of my Brother who passed away unexpectedly.

I had never been through the process before,so at one of the worst times I had to think about arranging his funeral.with little knowledge of how to go about it.

Sullivans made it so easy.  I only wanted a simple funeral as I am sure my Brother would have wished, I was also on a tight budget. The overall care,discretion and attention made me feel as if I'd spent thousands.

I chose a celebrant to carry out the service,which Sullivans arranged. Her delivery of the service was absolutely beautiful.

I would like to say a big thank you to Paul and Alex for their excellent service during a very difficult time for me. They were compassionate and made the whole process very easy, and they provided a lovely service on the day of the funeral for my father. They were completely transparent in all their costings and were also quite a bit cheaper than the other quotes I got, saving me around £700. Their website allows you to view the cost of each item you want and gives a grand total at the bottom. Highly recommended.

I chose Sullivan and Son, having read the information and reviews on their website. When someone dies you dont have a lot of time to research and then engage a funeral director, and I consider myself fortunate that I found Sullivans by chance, but their service leaves nothing to chance. I was very impressed with the professionalism and kindness shown to me at a difficult time. The team were more than happy to speak on the phone at any time, and it was reassuring that I was able to make an appointment for a home visit to discuss details. Julie was really friendly and helped me through the decisions, striking just the right tone. She also kept in contact, to ensure every detail was correct. My visit to the Chapel of Rest was extremely calm and Mum looked very peaceful. On the day of the funeral, everyone looked very smart and respectful and the funeral went very smoothly.

Thank you Alex and Julie for your help and guidance. I would not hesitate to recommend you.

friendly family funeral, very helpfull, calm, respect my nan's wishes and my family, help me to cope with sorting out, the funeral, as my nan was cremated, simple service, i could decide what i needed for the funeral, songs, tribute by family, peom by my sister, the funeral staff , are very helpfull, kind, polite, even done the flowers, so i didn't have to run around finding someone, lovely double ended spray , which sat on the coffin, everything was beautifully done by Julie and her team, on the day. my nan had a wonderfull sent off, and family, were relaxed, as i didn't need hymns. i was very happy with all the help from sullivan & sons funeral, in dover. i would recommend to everyone, to visit and see the staff. and i thank them for helping me, to deliver my nan's wishes.  and they are very good value for money.

Because my mother-in-law passed away just before Christmas it was a very difficult time for the family.

However, Alex did everything he could to ensure the family still got to visit their mum several times before the funeral took place.

Sullivans was over £1500 cheaper then 3 of the other major funeral directors around and I can truly say that nothing was too much for them.

Alex is very kind, supportive, understanding and empathetic to his customers needs.

He helped me to organise everything and suggested a fantastic Minister for the service.

My family and I will be using sullivans for all our funerals from this day forth.

My brother died in Kent.  We live in London, so finding a local funeral director was made easy by Sullivan's excellent website, which has a most useful ready-reckoner showing all the services available above the essential ones, and allowed us to quickly cost and plan the event.

Paul and Alex were very helpful and supportive at all times, and worked with us to make sudden changes of plan possible, guiding us through the registration process and the coroner's office procedures.  Their local knowledge proved invaluable and everything was set-up within a short space of time.

On the day we found the calm, dignified and unobtrusive service they offered very good indeed.  Paul is a delightful person who is sensitive and friendly.

In all our dealings with Sullivan & Son from start to finish we felt great satisfaction.  They are the kind of people I would like to deal with me when I pass on !

I first came across Sullivan & son's website when looking for a funeral director just after my father-in-law died in December 2011. Comparing it with many other websites I looked at I was pleasantly surprised with the comprehensive choice of services, and complete transparency of costs involved.

After the funeral I was so impressed with their professionalism that I have recommended them to many of my friends who have also been very pleased with costs and service from Sullivan & Sons.

Unfortunately my mother-in-law has just passed away last month and although a sad time it was a great help knowing that everything was taken care of by Paul & Alex.

I can’t recommend them enough, an excellent company.

From the moment mum passed away Paul, his brother and staff looked after our every need. I cant praise them enough for the things they did to ensure that our mum was cremated with dignity and love. Whenever we asked to see her in the Chapel of Rest it was arranged and sometimes at very short notice. And every time we saw her they took care of even the slightest details. We received far more care, reverance and thoughtfulness than was ever expected by Paul, family and staff throughout. From our first phone call to the present day this firm is gracious and gentle. The extra time they spent in researching churches, cemetary and related work was really exceptional and certainly the best value in London and the Counties. We thank them whole heartedly.

I would like to add to the many many people who find the service you offer above and beyond the "Normal" for a funeral director , from the first phone call I knew I was dealing with someone special who knew how to help lesson the pain and heart ace of the loss of a loved one , You never even minded the fact the it was so far away, It didn't matter "it could be done ," Don't worry" was your answer , Nothing was to much trouble , you told me every inch of the way what was going on and what was to happen, you treated my Mother with the greatest feeling and respect in every way as if it had had been your own ,
The respect you gave at the funeral making sure I was happy and saying " If there is anything I wanted you would be there at the back of the church just say " So nice to know, If anyone wants to know who to take care of there loved ones I can say with out any doubt it would be you and your team from start to finish professional and caring , No matter where you live , And saving me over £1,700 on the nearest funeral director to my Mum (just down the road not 2 miles away!) and Sullivans were over 60 miles!
