My wife died, aged 35, in London earlier this year. Her family are in Cheltenham, and she asked to be buried there. At a time when we were all feeling broken, James was of immense support. He came to collect her from London the morning after she died, facilitated her wishes to donate organs, and looked after both her and us every step of the way until it was time to say goodbye for the last time. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

The reason I approached Family Tree Funeral Services when I found myself in the position of planning the funeral for my mother in law, was because I had already heard very positive things about the way they worked. James Showers proved himself to be an excellent listener, and very willing to work with us to achieve all the things we were hoping for with her funeral service and care. His kindness, support and compassion went a long way towards making a very difficult time more bearable. i would not hesitate to highly recommend.

James Showers was wonderful and guided us through a difficult and emotional time and helped us create a memorable burial and thanksgiving service that Father would have approved of. He made it all so calm and managed to find out what our family wanted even though we barely knew ourselves. We had complete confidence in relying on James to sort out all the details which meant that it was one less thing we had to think about.

I want to express our family’s gratitude to James Showers of Family Tree Funerals. When our mother died in Nailsworth in January 2015, we approached James having come across his website, because the ideas behind his company chimed so perfectly with our mother’s green values.
Within an unbelievably short space of time, James grasped what mattered most to my sister and me, encouraged and supported our ideas about the kind of funeral we wanted, suggested wonderful locations for both the service and the burial, and, when needed, guided us in the gentlest way. As a result, we came up with the most beautiful and appropriate funeral ceremony for our mother that we could have hoped for, which helped us to re-connect with the person she’d been at her happiest and most lively.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Family Tree’s services, especially to the ecologically-minded - but also to anyone wanting to feel cared for and understood at a most difficult and sad time.

James Showers at Family Tree looked after us really well when we were planning our Dad's funeral. He was sensitive, thoughtful and supportive. He very quickly got a handle on what kind of people were were and what we wanted for our Dad. He listened to us. He gently guided us and quietly made things happen in the background, allowing us to feel in control and have the confidence to make some changes to the conventional idea of a funeral. The Service of Celebration for our Dad was an extremely special day. The grieving process is a long and rocky road but knowing we gave Dad a wonderful send off really does help. He would have been proud.
