Following the sudden and unexpected death of my husband I was reeling from the shock. Totally bereft  I contacted Jo early one morning and knew instantly that this was the right place.  Her wonderful calm and reassuring manner was so soothing and welcome. 

On meeting with her she literally held my hand and guided myself and my Daughter through a very terrible, unfamilar, and distressing time.  Jo looked after my husband for two weeks before the funeral and I visited him often.  Nothing was to much trouble and her handling of him and me, was simply exceptional.

Jo kept in touch constantly, letting me know all was well, chatting about the funeral plans and just everyday life too.  Her emails were a lifeline as they were filled with love, support and care.

On the funeral day Jo, Tom and Nita,  were just amazing.  So kind, thoughtful, organised and professional, they made the most difficult day in my life bearable.

 The comments about my husbands funeral were so nice.  One person said if a funeral can be simply beautiful, then this one surely was.

I will be grateful to Jo, Tom and Nita forever.  Jo still keeps in contact, inviting me up for a walk around her beautiful garden, making coffee and giving up her precious time to just talk to me and give me hope.  Where else would you get such a service as this..... 

I would like to say that when you lose a loved one and choose HGM for their final resting it is a very special place, you feel this as soon as you are there and the custodians (the Vassie family) of our precious ones could not be in safer hands.  Jo is simply wonderful at her craft and I have said that she must never, ever stop what she does as she makes a huge difference to anyone walking the lonely path of terrible loss and grief. 

To sum up Higher Ground Meadow is simply perfect in every way.  I would recommend this wonderful burial site to everybody who loses their loved ones.  

Our sincere thanks and gratitude go to the Vassie family forever.

This was exactly the kind of help we were looking for. My friend who died was clear she wanted a natural burial. Her daughter was wanting to create her own service. Jo and her son were helpful from start to finish. Every detail we wanted they helped us arrange it. The feeling of it being the family farm was comforting. They were caring and sensitive when they came to collect the body and we knew her mum's wishes were being absolutely fulfilled.  The venue is so beautiful and the spot was perfect for the service her daughter designed.  We had support without interference of being controlled by anyone.  They anticipated our needs, made helpful suggestions but let us be self-determining.  The prices were fair and reasonable.  They made a difficult day, a heartfelt beautiful occasion where everyone was allowed to celebrate the passing of our beloved one in the most honourable, memorable way.  Exactly as she said she wanted it to be. We had the freedom to do it as we wish with all the helpful supportive suggestions. It also felt terrific my friend went from her own home to her resting place direct, with no go betweens. !0 out of 10 service. I highly recommend them.
